Arctech Unveils SkyLight: A Game-Changer for Solar Tracking in LATAM
Arctech, a global leader in solar tracking, racking, and BIPV solutions, proudly announces the launch of its latest innovation, the SkyLight solar tracker. This advanced tracker is set to transform the solar energy landscape in the Latin American market. The official unveiling took place during an exclusive event, SkyLight Solar Synergy, on August 26th. This launch event was held in partnership with leading solar technology companies JA Solar and Solis, renowned for their solar modules and inverters, respectively.
Innovative Design for Optimal Performance
The SkyLight 1P Linked Dual-row Solar Tracking System is meticulously designed for regions characterized by low wind speeds, particularly tailored for the Latin American market. Featuring a single-point drive mechanism, SkyLight delivers a unique combination of reliability, safety, stability, and cost-effectiveness. The system boasts self-developed slew drives, which allow for an operating angle of ±60° and tracking accuracy of ≤0.2°, ensuring precise and consistent performance throughout its operational life. This advanced design results in fewer components compared to conventional solar trackers, significantly reducing production costs.
Enhanced Efficiency and Cost Savings
One of SkyLight’s standout features is its advanced split-design polymer bearings, which eliminate the need for pipe threading and calibration. This innovation cuts installation time by approximately 30%, while also reducing both installation and maintenance costs by 10%. Additionally, SkyLight’s connectors, made from high polymer material, provide a more accurate fit and reduce installation costs by an impressive 30%. The tracker also features an innovative square torque tube with rounded corners, which enhances its bending and torsional capacity while reducing the amount of steel required.
Eco-Friendly and Versatile
AI-Driven Performance Gains
Arctech has equipped SkyLight with its third-generation AI intelligent algorithm, which optimizes power generation and increases energy output by up to 8%. This advanced algorithm helps in reducing the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), offering a more cost-effective solution for solar energy projects. Mr. Cai Hao, President of Arctech, remarked, “The introduction of SkyLight marks a significant milestone for our company and the broader solar industry. We are thrilled to present a solution that not only meets but exceeds the evolving demands of modern solar projects, combining superior efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.”
Securing New Orders
The successful launch of SkyLight has already led to significant new orders. At Intersolar South America 2024, Arctech secured several key projects, including a 468MW installation in Bahia, Brazil, and a 160MW DG Package II initiative located in Brazil’s Northeast region. Additionally, the company has received an order for the 236MW SkyLine II project in Mendoza, Argentina. These new projects highlight SkyLight’s potential to drive substantial growth and innovation in the solar sector.
Arctech’s SkyLight represents a pivotal advancement in solar technology, underscoring the company’s commitment to leading the way in innovation and sustainability within the global solar market.
