- RGBW technology transforms the tower’s visual identity
- Unveiling set for Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has unveiled a revolutionary new lighting system for the Burj Khalifa. The advanced RGBW technology introduces a vibrant range of colours and dynamic effects to the iconic façade, with its first official display set for 1 December 2024 during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad festivities. The transformation will also mark the lead-up to the tower’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
This upgrade redefines the tower’s visual presence, enhancing the visitor experience and reinforcing Dubai’s reputation for design innovation and technological leadership.
The RGBW system underwent six months of rigorous mock-up testing to ensure flawless integration. The new system replaces static lights with addressable, colour-changing fixtures that create intricate and adaptable lighting scenes. These displays integrate seamlessly with the Burj Khalifa’s media screen while preserving its renowned architectural elegance.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, stated: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
By blending technological precision with artistic vision, this project sets a new benchmark in architectural lighting, inspiring future developments worldwide.
