EcoFlow, a leading name in portable and eco-friendly energy solutions, has announced the launch of its groundbreaking “Power For Rescues” program. This initiative, a key component of the company’s “EcoFlow Power For All” corporate social responsibility strategy, aims to deliver reliable, flexible, and clean power support to areas affected by disasters and to rescue organizations across the globe. The program also emphasizes disaster preparedness and rescue training to protect lives more effectively.
Responding to Increased Disaster Frequency
According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), extreme weather events have surged fivefold over the past 50 years. The escalating frequency of these disasters underscores the critical need for dependable power solutions in emergency situations. EcoFlow’s new program is designed to address this urgent need by providing essential power resources for rescue operations, disaster area settlements, and preparedness efforts.
Bruce Wang, CEO and founder of EcoFlow, highlighted the initiative, stating: EcoFlow is chosen by many for its reliability in disaster preparedness. We recognize that reliability is crucial when facing critical moments. By working closely with global rescue organizations, governments, hospitals, and shelters, we aim to provide dependable power support during emergencies. Our program also focuses on enhancing disaster preparedness and offering rescue training to help people build robust emergency plans and protect their families.”
Impactful Contributions During Recent Disasters
The “Power For Rescues” program has already made a notable impact in recent disaster situations:
- 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Japan: EcoFlow donated 76 portable power stations, 17 solar panels, power banks, and disaster preparedness boxes to non-profit organizations in Nanao, Komatsu, and Kanazawa. These supplies were instrumental in supporting local shelters, providing emergency power to approximately 40,000 people affected by the earthquake.
- 2024 Floods in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil: The Estrela Hospital, which received critically ill patients from various nearby cities, faced frequent power outages that threatened patient safety. EcoFlow’s donation of portable power stations ensured the stable operation of medical and medication storage equipment, thus safeguarding the lives of many patients.
Strengthening Daily Preparedness and Training
In addition to emergency response, the program emphasizes daily disaster preparedness and training:
- Japan’s Tsunami Evacuation Towers: EcoFlow installed portable power stations and solar panels at evacuation towers in Isumi City. These installations provide emergency electricity to evacuees in the event of power outages caused by disasters.
- China’s Blue Sky Rescue Team and Dawn Rescue Alliance: The program donated portable power stations to 10 rescue teams, addressing power issues during their operations and enhancing their capability to respond effectively to emergencies.
- Wales Collaboration with St John Ambulance Cymru: The program has partnered with St John Ambulance Cymru for a 12-month initiative to conduct 67 demonstration and awareness training sessions across north, south, and west Wales. This effort aims to train 1,000 individuals in rescue operations and disaster preparedness, contributing significantly to community safety and the development of professional rescue personnel.
The “Power For Rescues” program underscores EcoFlow’s dedication to enhancing global disaster response and preparedness with cutting-edge power solutions. The company’s proactive approach in supporting rescue operations and enhancing preparedness efforts highlights its dedication to making a meaningful impact in critical situations.
