A student who has driven ambulances to war zones around the world, including Ukraine and Gaza, is launching a unique family-friendly festival, Fun For Life Fest, in Glasgow on 2 August 2025. This exciting event is set to welcome 15,000 people for a day of fun, entertainment, and kindness.
The festival, organised by Umran Ali Javaid, promises a day full of exciting activities for families and friends, with a special focus on giving back to those in need. Some of the profits from the event will be used to deliver 15 second-hand ambulances to various countries, including an electric ambulance to a care home in the UK.
A Fun-filled Day for All Ages
Fun For Life Fest will feature an exciting lineup of performers, comedians, and musicians on the main stage, with a full schedule to be announced soon. The festival will also have a dedicated sports section, featuring an influencer football match and opportunities for festival-goers to participate in various sports activities. For those looking for more relaxed experiences, the festival will host a storytelling section for both adults and children, along with an outdoor cinema area showcasing family-friendly films.
In addition, attendees can enjoy limited spots for yoga classes, workshops, and creative activities such as painting and jewellery making. These activities are included in the ticket price, and attendees can secure their spots on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Historical Venue in the Heart of Glasgow
The event will take place at Tollcross Park, a stunning location known for its unique rose garden. The park is the perfect venue for such a large-scale event, with its rich history of hosting massive concerts and ample space to accommodate the planned activities. The park is well-connected with excellent transport links, including being a short walk from Carntyne train station.
Supporting a Humanitarian Cause
Umran Ali Javaid, the organiser of the festival, is not just an event management student but also a humanitarian who has delivered over 40 ambulances to countries in need. Having recently won the prestigious Most Inspirational Student award from AEME (Association of Event Management Education), Umran aims to combine his passion for events with his desire to help others.
“I’m really excited to showcase this festival,” said Umran. “It will offer great value for money and be a memorable experience for all ages. We have a fantastic team behind us with decades of experience, and we aim to deliver an event to the highest standard.”
A Festival with Purpose
Umran also emphasized the significance of using some of the festival’s profits to deliver ambulances to those who need them the most. “The ambulances aren’t a big deal in the grand scheme, as there are still hundreds of thousands in need, but we hope they can make a small difference and save lives,” he said. “By combining my two passions, I want to create a safe space for families to have fun together while also giving back to those in need.”
Fun For Life Fest is more than just a festival; it’s a chance to enjoy a day of laughter, excitement, and kindness.
