LONGi has achieved a remarkable milestone by securing three awards at the 10th All Quality Matters (AQM) Solar & ESS Congress hosted by the TÜV Rheinland Group in Shanghai on September 3, 2024. This year’s awards reaffirm LONGi’s leadership in photovoltaic (PV) module technology, marking the company’s eighth consecutive year of winning in the PV Modules category.
LONGi was honoured with the AQM Award for both PV Module Energy Yield Simulation and PV Module Reliability. These awards recognise the exceptional performance and reliability of LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 module, which is powered by the advanced second-generation back-contact (BC 2.0) cell technology. The Hi-MO 9 received additional recognition with the PV Module Outdoor Energy Yield Award in the Monofacial Group, highlighting its exceptional efficiency under diverse outdoor environments.
In response to escalating climate challenges, including severe weather events such as hurricanes and hailstorms, LONGi has placed a strong emphasis on the quality and durability of its PV modules. The newly introduced PV Module Reliability Award complements the existing PV Module Energy Yield Simulation Award, reflecting the industry’s growing focus on long-term product reliability. LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 module has undergone rigorous sampling and specialized testing by TÜV Rheinland to evaluate its performance across diverse environmental conditions. These tests simulate the module’s power generation performance in different weather scenarios and assess its resilience to extreme conditions over a projected lifespan of 25 years or more.
The Hi-MO 9 module features advanced HPBC 2.0 cell technology, high-quality Tairay silicon wafers, and composite passivation technology. These innovations significantly enhance light absorption, photovoltaic conversion, and current transmission capabilities, making the module highly efficient even under challenging conditions such as uneven light irradiation, high temperatures, and high humidity. TÜV Rheinland’s comprehensive evaluation confirmed the Hi-MO 9’s exceptional energy yield and reliability, leading to its receipt of the prestigious awards.
Additionally, the Hi-MO X6 module, which received the PV Module Outdoor Energy Yield Award in the Monofacial Group, has demonstrated impressive performance improvements over standard modules. The Hi-MO X6 (Anti-dust) model, evaluated by the National Center of Quality Supervision and Inspection for Photovoltaic Products (CPVT) over seven months, demonstrated an impressive average monthly power generation boost of 2.84%, reaching up to 5.4% in January. It also operated at temperatures 4.01% lower than conventional modules, reducing power loss and enhancing overall reliability.
Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi, highlighted the importance of continuous innovation in photovoltaic technology amidst global economic pressures and competitive market conditions. She expressed confidence that LONGi’s BC cell technology, epitomised by the Hi-MO 9, will drive significant advancements in commercial value and sustainability. He concluded by declaring that the BC era has arrived, with LONGi’s cutting-edge technology poised to contribute substantially to global carbon reduction efforts and sustainable development.
