Impact on the Community and Charity Partnership
James Ferguson, fundraising officer for Francis House, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative: “Participating in Run Heaton Park in support of Francis House presents an incredible chance for our community to come together, engage in physical activity, and make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families relying on the compassionate care provided by their local children’s hospice. As the official charity partner, we are thrilled to support runners of all abilities, whether they are taking on the 5k, 10k, or half marathon.”
Francis House provides vital respite and end-of-life care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, offering much-needed support and short-term care for their families. The hospice currently assists around 2,000 individuals, delivering respite care, homecare, sibling support, end-of-life care, and emotional guidance.
