1. Biophilic Design Takes the Spotlight
Biophilic design will continue to take centre stage in 2025, bringing nature indoors like never before. This trend’s enduring popularity is driven by a growing desire for calming environments that provide a refuge from the hectic modern world. Biophilic design has given rise to hybrid trends such as Japandi and Feng Shui, which prioritise natural elements and intentional decorating. A notable evolution is the emergence of ‘warm minimalism’—a curated style that emphasises earthy textures like stone and wood.
With biophilic design, the stark minimalism of the past is being replaced by warmer tones like cream, beige, and camel, creating cosy and inviting atmospheres. These hues transform monochrome interiors into cocoon-like sanctuaries. Accessories are also evolving, taking on abstract forms with framed posters and sculptural ornaments becoming focal points. Strategic styling enhances the natural flow of spaces, highlighting the importance of where items are placed.
2. Bold Colour is Back in Vogue
Expressing oneself through colour is a major trend for 2025. The dopamine décor movement, which has gained traction on platforms like TikTok, champions the use of vivid colours and patterns to inject personality into homes. There are no restrictions when it comes to colour; bold hues like pink, yellow, bright blue, and orange serve as striking accents, while colour drenching—where walls and ceilings are painted the same tone—offers an affordable way to transform interiors.
This technique complements the recent trend of highlighting period features in homes, adding character and interest. Whether through wall panelling or accent alcoves, a standalone colour drenching can make a memorable statement.
3. Go Soft with Curves and Wavy Shapes
